Artist Spotlight: Mahmut Orhan — Where East Meets the Dancefloor

Few producers capture the meeting point of cultures quite like Mahmut Orhan. Born in 1993 in Bursa, the Turkish DJ and producer blends deep house, nu disco and indie dance with Eastern and Mediterranean melodies to create a sound that is unmistakably his own.

His story began early. He started out in music in Bursa as a teenager before moving to Istanbul around 2011 to perform in the city's club scene. Within a few years he was releasing his own productions, defined from the start by a fusion of Eastern instruments and Western electronic rhythms.

The international breakthrough came with "Feel," his 2016 collaboration with singer Sena Şener, released on Ultra Records. The track charted across Europe — in Greece, Germany, Poland and Romania among others — and went on to earn hundreds of millions of streams, turning a young producer from Bursa into a globally recognized name.

Since then, Orhan has built a deep catalogue — tracks such as "Save Me," "6 Days" and "Schhh" — and performed at major festivals around the world. His work has been recognized with honors including GQ's Best DJ in 2018 and an Altın Kelebek award, and he continues to release new music and tour internationally.

What sets him apart is his sense of place: his tracks carry the warmth of Anatolian and Mediterranean sound into the heart of global dance music — a reminder that the best electronic music often comes from somewhere deeply rooted.
